Chatterpure

Explore new business opportunities with a unified chat system
Chatterpure is designed for business to engage with their clients and stakeholders more efficiently and effectively with our unified business chat system.
The Problem
Businesses these days conduct business through chat applications to build relationships with clients and stakeholders. With the COVID-19 pandemic, It is now crucial for businesses to go digital. Having employees juggle multiple chat applications for many different contacts takes up valuable time and resources.

The obstacles that I will face is the lack of references of the features to include as this product is relatively new with few in the market. Another obstacle for me is that I will be using a new UX/UI software called Figma for this project which is intimidating but I was ready to tackle it to bring this project to life.
The Solution
The solution is a unified chat dashboard system. This enables businesses to engage their contacts more efficiently and effectively. With this, all conversations related to business clients, recruitment, and company matters will be in a central dashboard no matter the chat channels.
This allows users to personalize every interaction while providing useful features according to work being done. This unified chat system offers users an avenue to monitor and schedule business matters within the chat dashboard so as to better manage company resources. This chat dashboard application can be accessed anywhere, in the office or on the go to cater to shifting work culture.

Empathize
This phase was to research related chat dashboard applications in the market and know what features are implemented for the customers to use the application. This is to understand how users will interact with such a product, and what would make them or keep them from using such a product. The user expectations and their mental model when they see such a product and its benefits for themselves and the business.

To achieve this I conducted 4 user interviews. The participants are potential candidates for the application as their job roles involve frequent communication with stakeholders of the company almost daily as they are in client and recruitment-facing roles.
Define
With user interviews, I can identify issues and goals that the users will have when they use a chat application. To design a chat application dashboard that is related to the user's mental model of a chat application. These insights gained allowed me to pinpoint specific issues and goals of the user and create user personas.
User Persona

User Goals
1. An easier way to stay connected with clients and stakeholders.

2. Separate work from personal life and some privacy.
3. Features within the application to perform tasks and be more informed.
User Pains
1. Juggling many different chat channels to stay connected with business contacts.
2. Wants to make sure that there are updates to the applications that are timely and reliable.

3. Having an easy-to-understand interface is what they expect from a chat application.

Business Owner Goals
1. Wants the business to keep up with new emerging and technologies.

2. Ensuring employees are able to maintain a work-life balance.

3. Available company resources are being used efficiently.
Business Owner Pains
1. Having to juggle and learn many different chat applications for the business.
2. Wants a chat application that does not have a steep learning curve to start work.

3. Subscription-based services should not be so expensive for the business to be invested in.
Ideate
Exploring different ways users will interact in the dashboard, I sketched design approaches mimicking user flows when they sign up and interact around the dashboard. I tested different designs to find the pros and cons of the designs where the preferred designs were then expanded on and developed through information architecture, low-fidelity & high-fidelity mockups and then usability testing in the testing phase.
Sketches
The brainstorming of ideas using sketches to help visualize the user journey experience. These sketches allowed me to further research and implement features that would serve users best. My early sketches show different layouts but still having the main components of the chat dashboard.

Information Architecture

Prototyping and testing
With a low-fidelity prototype created, user testing allowed me to find roadblocks in the design and the expectations of the users when they use a chat application. Through user testing of the low-fidelity prototype, I discovered small details and changes that were essential to the users when it came to chatting applications.

With user feedback, the high-fidelity prototype was finalized with additional screens, details, and images to relay added information to provide a better user experience.
With the information architecture, I proceeded to develop the features and functionalities of the chat dashboard. The designs of the low & high-fidelity wireframes were expanded and with usability testing in the testing phase while ensuring it was still simple to use and navigate.

Marketing & Social Media Campaigns
To promote the product, online advertisements for social media were created to entice businesses to sign up and use the product. Offline advertisements to be placed at strategic locations nearby businesses such as bus stops, and MRT stations.

Reflection
With this project, I incorporated the knowledge gained in the SGunited Associate UX/UI Designer Bootcamp & from online materials into this project and learned a great deal during this journey and project. Creating other UX/UI personal projects has prepared me to tackle this major project as I know what works or doesn't work in the design process.

I know i can improve by developing further the design system that I created to make future projects easier as I have a template I can reference from.

Through this project, I learned Figma, found new resources to pull from, improving my design system skills and UX process that I can incorporate into my workflow, and had an extensive research process that helped me to bring this project to fruition.
